Burma 1943

Gurkhas attacking Japanese positions in the Chin Hills in Burma.

In 1943 the Japanese advance on the Chin Hills in Burma was threatening the Indian border and the Allies realised that the advance had to be stopped. Key to the Japanese forward positions was the Basha East Hill, which took three assaults by the Allied forces before they were successful and a vital stronghold was gained.
