Stalingrad,1943

The German Sixth army, under the command of Colonel-General Paulus, surrendered to the Russians on the 31 January 1943, however the remnants of the 11th.Corps.under the command of General Karl Strecker held out for a further two more days in a tractor factory in Stalingrads industrial area, holding off all Russian attacks until the 2nd. February, when surrounded and out of ammunition , their possitions were overrun, forcing them to surrender. They transmitted their last message to the outside world and their Fuhrer, telling them that they had done their duty.
